Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Virtual Buddy uses cookies and similar browser storage technologies when you use virtualbuddy.app. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. Similar technologies, such as localStorage, let a site remember information between visits. We use these technologies to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences.
What we store
- Authentication & session cookies — set by our authentication provider to keep you securely signed in and to protect against cross-site request forgery. Without these, you cannot use your account.
- Local preferences — values stored in your browser (for example, your theme choice and your cookie-consent choice under the key
vb.cookie-consent) so the app can honour your settings. These stay on your device and are not used to track you.
Essential only
The app currently sets only essential cookies — those strictly necessary to provide the Service, such as authentication and security. We do not currently use advertising cookies or third-party analytics cookies that track you across sites. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for consent where required.
Your consent choices
When you first visit, a banner lets you choose “Accept all” or “Essential only.” Because we currently set only essential cookies, both options keep the app working; your choice is stored locally so we do not ask again. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.
Managing cookies
Most browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in and using core features of the Service.
